Wish for Valentino!

runway update

Oooooh how I wish we could all dress up in Valentino every day and parade down the streets of Milan and Paris as sophisticated and ultra feminine chic ladies. The fall 2011 RTW collection was the ultimate mix between RTW and couture. It is pure elegance and simplicity with intricate laced patterns. After the departure of Mr. Valentino himself in 2008, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, who had previously designed accessories for the label, were then named creative directors. And they managed to transcend his unique style and beauty into what Valentino still is today.

The BLONDS: Uber FAB ulous

fashion update

I have always wondered who designed that amazing outfit that Fergie has on for M.A.C. commercial ads. And then I saw the same type of costumes on Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and many more celebrities. Yes I am talking about the ones with lots of bling bling and spikes. Fairly unknown here in Europe but super famous in USA, the BLONDS are the creative minds behind the style of many celebrities. David Trujillo studied Fashion Merchandising and Design and the International Fine Arts College in Miami then went on to design windows and interiors for high-end retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, Phillipe Rollano, studied at The Fashion Institute of Technology before working as a freelance illustrator and make up artist for MAC. The two met in New York City and soon realized they shared similar views and aspirations regarding fashion. They officially launched “The Blond Collection” in 2007 as a line that tests the boundaries between fashion and art. It is their goal to not only provide an interesting and practical way to dress, but to provide an escape, intrigue and sometimes entertainment.(source www.eccodomani.com)
No wonder M.A.C. used them for their ads. So whenever you spot a celebrity dressed in over the top, sexy, and ultra fabulous style...think Blonds!!
