Dilek Hanif Couture Design

I am always looking for new inspirational designers. And this lady is definitely worth checking out. Dilek Hanif is a Turkey based designer, started out in 1990 with her own "Dilek Hanif" line and aired her first fashion show in 2002. Her line consists of Haute Couture and ready to wear collection. Winning some prestigious awards since then, such as the "Most succesful female designer" by Avon, she sets the trend for Turkish high end fashion. Her style is the mix of tradition and innovation with a great touch of luxury, which truly encaptures the true essence of Turkish and Armenian origins.

Paris must see exhibit - Balenciaga and Comme des Garcons 2012

If you are in Paris between 13th April and 7th October this year, make sure to pass by the Musee Galliera. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Balenciaga's death the museum showcases an extraordinary exhibit of his amazing historical Spanish costumes. Over 70 pieces dating from the 18th-20th century and 40 couture dresses will take your breathe away and will give you a true taste of couture in its original state.

Mary Katrantzou is one of those designers that stands out of the crowd, simply because she is a phenomenon that sweeps away all women's fantasies by combining new colors, prints and extraordinary cuts together. She is a genuine designer that knows her skills by visualizing a surrealistic image into a print and then on a dress, making the dress become an amazing inspiration on itself. In a short period she has become so popular with women all over the world, selling in more than 110 stores. This fall collection is a great mixture of fabulous knits, chiffons, intricate embellishments, bold digital colors and prints. I love it, do you?
