Resort 2012 collection

runway update

I never fully understood the concept of a resort collection. Fabulous resort outfits to wear on your holidays destination such as St.Barths or the Bahamas. Originally ment for the more affluent costumers, nowadays resort wear may appeal more to the bigger crowd that likes to dress in style and look fabulous in the summer. Resort wear is usually made from lighter materials such as cotton, chiffon, silk and poplin that breathe easily and adds comfortability. From super light dresses and suitsto fabulous evening dresses. For this year's collections seen on the runways, I picked a couple of my favorite ones:

Subtle sophistication at Elie Taharie
Gorgeous colors at Oscar de la Renta
Stunning blues at Carlos Miele
Super cute cocktail dresses by Badgley Mischka
For evening dresses Zac Posen

Wish for Valentino!

runway update

Oooooh how I wish we could all dress up in Valentino every day and parade down the streets of Milan and Paris as sophisticated and ultra feminine chic ladies. The fall 2011 RTW collection was the ultimate mix between RTW and couture. It is pure elegance and simplicity with intricate laced patterns. After the departure of Mr. Valentino himself in 2008, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, who had previously designed accessories for the label, were then named creative directors. And they managed to transcend his unique style and beauty into what Valentino still is today.
